The other night I noticed Franklin sitting on the family room couch intently reading or should I say studying from a pretty large red hard bound book... when after awhile he said, "Mom, let's have a scrabble match..". So we have had a couple of matches this week. Franklin came off the victor on Saturday night and then tonight (Sunday) Mom stole the show. We have fun

Our little girls are so fun to have around. They are always excited about the simplest of things. Just today it was snowing and they both wanted to be out in the snow. Demi has such a cute way of saying it.... "noing... noing... as she runs to the window to look out."

One of the fun things about this area is the cultural experiences that are available all around us. We have the Opera, the Symphony, many theatres where live performances can be seen; (professional - to semi professional - to amateur talent). These are just to name a few. One of the hotspots for our area is Rogers Memorial Theatre. Dad and I enjoyed a night out to see "The Wizard of Oz".

Joy just loves listening to the CD of Oklahoma. She and Demi and all the family were able to watch this fun musical this summer when we were up in the Yellowstone area and saw it at an old theatre. Since then she pretends to be either Curly or Lori. When she is Curly, Sara is Lori and when Joy is Lori, Sara is Curly. Well ... in these two shots... Lori is getting her hair curled up for the social that is coming up with Curly.

It has been very beautiful here as we have watched the snow create so many wonderland pictures. It is a delight to watch the seasons and see the amazing scenes that are right there before our eyes... right where we live, just outside my bedroom window. We are blessed!

The last couple of weeks has been filled with Forum experiences. On the 14th we had our first forum meeting of the season. Our new State Senator from this area, Dan Lilynquist, and our new representative, Becky Edwards were our guests. We really enjoyed hearing from them and had a pretty good turnout for our first meeting of the season. The next week we had a training meeting at the capital with Gayle Ruzicka and were really benefited from being there and hearing her speak to us. About 10 of us were there to prepare us for this upcoming Legilative Session. It has been amazing to me to see the women who are now coming to the surface who are willing to take part and go up to the Capital to let their voices be heard. The United Women's Forum has provided the inspiration and the education that was needed to help us feel comfortable and capable .. and over time we are seeing some results.
We had a wonderful time together this Christmas. Audrey and Andy, Frank and Sara and the girls, Mom and Christian were here. We even had Marsh and Vince and Gary and Corrine join us with some of their family for Christmas dinner. We couldn't have been more blessed. I am very grateful for the happy times we shared this holiday season and for the joy of family. May you all have a fantastic beginning for the best New Year yet!

We all spent time putting the puzzle together... but Frank and Christian were
the most dedicated to the project....

It was so good to have Audrey and Andy here....

We were trying to create a smooth run......

but most of the time we went off in a crazy direction

A Mix of Events for December kept me very busy indeed - but it was all fun and memorable. The Christmas Concert was a new experience for me and I realized that I better be ready for Christmas early on to survive.
I'm so glad that we constantly get second chances. I'm starting a New Year and so I'm trying to get back into my blogging again as well. I will try to keep a weekly post coming. (Of course I'm sure no-one is checking this blog anymore so I will have to try and resurrect it and see who is willing to believe that I'm back again.) I will be waiting to see if I get even one, two or maybe three comments as I begin anew. At any rate... HERE I AM again... at ME and MY HOUSE! Deb
